Let your light shine.

What you’re looking for is not out there. It is within you.

My mission is to help kids access their inner capacity to thrive.

And, of course, play, laugh, and connect along the way!

Steady is a super power.

As a children’s yoga teacher and SEL curriculum developer, I work with kids to help them discover their inner capacity to be rooted in self and to maneuver hard times. To face challenges and to know they have the capacity to set the course for their lives. And to plant their feet firmly in joy. Focusing on the whole child, I integrate values of the mind, heart, body, and community to guide each child towards their own path of resiliency.

Learning yoga as a child is an invaluable, lifelong tool that enables children to navigate circumstances, anchor their focus, be a leader, and trust their inner capacity.

A happy heart is beautiful.

 FAQs

  • As a curriculum developer, I position my kids yoga classes as an opportunity to provide kids with a life changing learning experience. While we focus on mind and movement, we also explore age-relevant topics, such as friendship, resiliency, challenges, conflict, mental health, and stress. What makes my approach unique is that I use yoga as a vessel to cultivate each child’s sense of personal power so they can take the tools learned on the mat and apply them in the real world.

  • My yoga for kids program is quite different than other types of adult yoga. During my yoga sessions, kids will have the choice to participate in light and playful practices that help them tap into their inner resources and access their ability to thrive. These inner resources include breath-work, mindset, movement, and community connections. Drawing largely on the field of Positive Psychology, I leverage yoga to help kids cultivate resiliency through intentional activities that promote their own discovery of what they are capable of.

  • I teach yoga to anyone who is 3-18!

With that being said, my classes are sorted based on age groups to ensure the practices and context I share are developmentally appropriate and engaging.

For all kids, I strive to cultivate an environment that is welcoming, playful, and joyful.

  • This is a really important question and one that I am more than happy to answer. Yoga is an incredible resource for ALL kids. The practice of yoga can help kids realize their potential, manage stress, overcome challenges, be engaged and focused, and make positive contributions in their communities.

I approach yoga for kids with an “all are welcome” mindset, regardless of background, experiences, or beliefs. My classes are framed to engage both the mind and body in a way that creates a contemplative experience for kids to choose how, if at all, yoga fits into their life. By doing so, I strive to position the practice of yoga as a personal experience for each child.

  • In short, yes!

Developing yoga experiences for kids is something I am very passionate about and I strive to make each experience fun and light, while integrating tools and intentions that are important and valuable.

For example, if my class is focusing on how to manage frustration, we may approach the topic through play, movement, breath, and inquiry. We may incorporate things such as balls, props, sounds, and conversation to create active involvement, if the child chooses.

Fun and joy are stitched into the essence of my classes! In fact, I can say that many kids see their own yoga practice as a favorite exercise that surprises even themselves!
